"This is the second book in the Mystery, Ink. series, but these are stand-alone books, so don't be afraid to start with this one if you didn't read the first. (Although the first book, Murder Times Two, is worth a read as well.) There are references to characters from the first book that will make readers of the series feel right at home, but someone new to the series will certainly not be lost or feel out of place.

Sly is an interesting character. He isn't an investigator, so his determination to solve this girl's murder makes him a likeable character, even amidst his personal crisis. The pacing is good, the plot unfolds in a logical manner, and the end is surprising, but not in an unbelievable way.

I'm liking Centerville more and more. Bring on the next book."
